OUR PARISH PROGRAM

What is the Fidelis Sisterhood Parish Program?

At its core, Fidelis Sisterhood is a parish-sponsored, multigenerational program for girls in grades 6–12. It brings young women into authentic sisterhood with mentors—women of all ages—who journey together toward Christ.

Fidelis Sisterhood is in full communion with the Magesterium of the Catholic Church and shares the richness of her teachings through engaging, relationship-centered programming rooted in virtue, mentorship, and community.

The Fidelis Night

Fidelis chapters gather weekly to study one of the seven virtues. Each Fidelis Night includes sharing a meal, playing a game, viewing a media clip related to the virtue, a King's Message given by a mentor, small group time to discuss the virtue and how to apply it in our daily lives, and then ends in Night Prayer.

What a Weekly Fidelis Night Looks Like

Shared Meal

Each Fidelis Night begins with a shared meal, creating space for genuine connection and community. Around the table, girls and mentors step away from the busyness of the week to build friendships, share stories, and simply enjoy being together. This time lays the foundation for trust and belonging—reminding every participant that she is known, welcomed, and part of something bigger than herself.

Game/Activity

Following the meal, the group engages in a fun, intentional game or activity designed to build energy and connection. Whether lighthearted or reflective, these moments break down barriers, foster joy, and create shared experiences across age groups. The activity often ties into the evening’s theme, helping to introduce or reinforce the virtue in a way that is memorable and engaging.

Video Clip &

The King's Message

The heart of the evening begins with a short, thoughtfully selected video clip, followed by “The King’s Message.” This central teaching moment connects the theme of the night to Christ, the ultimate model of virtue. Drawing from Scripture, the Catechism, and the lives of the Saints, the message invites each girl to see how virtue is lived out in real life—and how she is personally called to grow.

Small Group Discussion

After the message, participants break into small groups led by mentors to dive deeper using the Fidelis Program Book. These discussions provide a safe and supportive space for girls to ask questions, share honestly, and reflect on how the virtue applies to their own lives. Rooted in mentorship, this time allows relationships to grow while helping each young woman internalize what she has learned.

Night Prayer

Each Fidelis Night concludes with Night Prayer, or Compline, grounding the evening in peace and prayer. Together, the group entrusts the day to God, reflecting on His presence and seeking His grace. This quiet, reverent close helps form a rhythm of prayer in daily life and reminds each participant that she is never alone—God walks with her always.

Most Fidelis nights run for approximately 2 hours.

Ceremonies

Ceremony is a natural expression of who we are as both spiritual and physical beings. As St. Thomas Aquinas explains, we are called to worship God not only inwardly, through the devotion of our hearts, but outwardly, through visible signs and actions. What we believe and experience within us is meant to be expressed.

Fidelis ceremonies make that reality tangible. They give young women the opportunity to outwardly live what God is doing interiorly—marking moments of growth, commitment, and transformation.

Through beauty, reverence, and intentional ritual, these ceremonies help make the invisible visible, inviting each Sister and Mentor to more fully embrace a life of virtue.

The Yearly Fidelis Sisterhood Ceremonies

Initiation

Initiation marks the formal beginning of a young woman’s journey in Fidelis. At the start of the year, new Sisters are welcomed into the sisterhood and invited into a deeper life of virtue, mentorship, and community. This ceremony sets the tone for the year ahead, reminding each girl that she is known, chosen, and called to grow—surrounded by women who will walk with her every step of the way.

Accolade

Accolade celebrates a year of growth in virtue and the intentional effort each Sister has made to live out what she has learned. Rather than a finish line, it is a moment of recognition and encouragement—honoring the ways each young woman has shown up, engaged, and taken steps toward holiness. It affirms that growth in virtue is a lifelong journey, and that every step forward matters.

Coronation

Coronation is the pinnacle of the Fidelis journey. In this deeply meaningful ceremony, a Sister or Mentor freely and publicly accepts the call to live a life of virtue. It is not a reward, but a response—an intentional “yes” to the invitation God has been extending throughout her time in Fidelis. Rooted in dignity and purpose, Coronation marks a profound moment of commitment to continue walking the path from Sisters to Saints®.

Retreats

Fidelis retreats offer a meaningful opportunity to step away from the pace of everyday life and enter more deeply into formation, prayer, and sisterhood. Fidelis National provides thoughtfully developed content for three retreats each year, centered on the transcendentals—Goodness, Truth, and Beauty—guiding young women to encounter God through what is good, true, and beautiful in their lives.

While retreats are a powerful complement to the Fidelis program, they are optional and fully planned and executed at the chapter level, allowing each parish to tailor the experience to its community. Whether simple or more immersive, these retreats create intentional space for reflection, connection, and growth—helping each Sister continue her journey with greater clarity, depth, and purpose.

The Triannual Fidelis Sisterhood Retreats

Goodness

The Goodness retreat invites Sisters to encounter the reality that God is the source of all that is good—and that they are created to reflect that goodness in their own lives. Through prayer, discussion, and intentional activities, girls are encouraged to recognize the goodness within themselves and others, and to grow in virtue through their daily choices. This retreat helps ground each participant in her identity as a daughter of God, called to live and act with goodness in the world.

Truth

The Truth retreat focuses on discovering and embracing what is true—about God, the Church, and one’s own identity. In a culture often marked by confusion and competing messages, this retreat creates space for clarity and confidence rooted in Christ. Sisters are invited to wrestle with meaningful questions, deepen their understanding of the faith, and recognize that truth is not just an idea, but a person—Jesus Himself—who calls them into relationship and freedom.

Beauty

The Beauty retreat opens the door to encountering God through beauty—both in the world around us and within each person. Sisters are invited to slow down, reflect, and recognize the ways beauty draws us closer to God. Through creative expression, prayer, and meaningful experiences, this retreat helps girls rediscover their own dignity and worth, and see that true beauty is not superficial, but something that radiates from a life rooted in Christ.

Service

Sisters are given opportunities to live out virtue through acts of service within their parish and local community. These experiences foster a spirit of generosity, humility, and love for others while helping each young woman connect her faith to action in tangible, meaningful ways.

Whether through group service projects, parish involvement, or outreach initiatives, service reinforces the call to serve as Christ served.

Mentor Formation

Fidelis Sisterhood equips mentors with the tools, confidence, and support they need to lead well. This begins with initial training and continues through weekly mentor emails that provide ready-to-use content for each Fidelis Night.

Mentors are further supported through virtual formation, opportunities for deeper growth at Inspire, and ongoing guidance from Fidelis National—ensuring they feel prepared, encouraged, and never alone in their role.
